City Art Silberstein offers the following experiences:
Ecuador tourist attractions. You will start your day at the hotel, following a tour through the residential neighborhoods in the north of Quito, continuing on the avenue “Gran Colombia” entering the historic centre of the city. You will pass the church of the “Basílica”, with its impressing facade crossing beautiful old colonial streets, to then arrive at the “Plaza Grande” (Big Square), where you will find the House of Government, the Archbishop Palace. Just in front of you, crossing the square you will able to visit the Cathedral which is the home of numerous paintings and sculptures of artists from colonial times. Just a few meters further, you will reach the church of “la Compañía”, especially attractive due to its interior decoration, which is completely made out of gold leaf. You will then continue until the square and church of “San Francisco”, which is also the home of important antique paintings and sculptures. To finish the city tour you will be taken to the viewpoint of the “Panecillo” Hill, from where you will be able to enjoy a beautiful view over the old and modern city of Quito.

Visit to the “Mitad del Mundo”, the centre of the world, located about 40 minutes outside of Quito, passing small villages on the way. Here you will find various shopping opportunities for handicrafts, as well as cafeterias and restaurants that offer local and international menus. You have the option of entering the ethnographic museum, which is in the interior of the monument and shows the different ethnicities that Ecuador has to offer. Another option is to visit the Intiñan Museum, where you will be shown different types of experiments that show that you are actually standing on the middle of the world. Additionally you will be able to see an exposition of different Ecuadorian indigenous cultures. You will then return to Quito for the second part of the tour, the City Tour (described above)

You will leave the hotel in the morning, passing the valley of Guayllabamba and Cayambe, to then reach tthe province of Imbabura, famous for its beautiful lakes and lagoons. You will stop at the viewpoint of the lake “San Pablo”, where you will see a variety of handicrafts, such as ponchos, scarves, gloves, all elaborated by hand with sheep wool. You will have time to do shopping or visit the indigenous food and grocery market, before then continuing to the lagoon “Cuicocha”, which is of volcanic origins and offers a great diversity of flora and fauna, being part of the natural reserve “Cotacachi-Cayapas”. You will walk along the natural trails and do a boat trip around the lagoon. On the waz back, you will stop in Cotacachi, known as the leather city, to find all sorts of leather shops offering jackets, coats, purses, bags and shoes, only to mention a few. You will then start you trip back to Quito.

Is an attractive area for its invaluable natural richness, as it is worldwide one of the regions with highest diversity of birds. We will leave very early to visit this place, making one stop on the way at the orchid reserve “El Pahuma”, where we will be able to enjoy the beauty of hundreds of unique orchids. You will have the opportunity to walk a trail which will lead to a astonishing cascade where you can make a stop and jump in the water. You then continue to Mindo, where you will visit the butterfly farm, where many species will be flying in close range to you. You will then start your journey back to Quito.

Known as the door to the Rainforest, Papallacta is much visited for its hydro-thermal qualities, as it is located between the volcanoes Antisana and Cayambe and its water offers a range of health benefits due to its high content in minerals. In “Termas de Papallacta” you can enjoy several pools with different hydro-thermal qualities, as well as a spa that offers all types of massages and treatments. You can also go on a walk to the surroundings of the place and see the local flora and fauna.

This is the province which is home of the highest active volcano of the world, the Cotopaxi (5.897 mts. A.s.l.). you will visit the national park Cotopaxi, which offers great variety in flora and fauna of the Andean paramo and where you will find the lagoon of “Limpiopungo”, which is a great stop to take pictures of the beautiful landscape. If you are interested and in good health, there is the chance to walk up to the first cabin getting even closer to the volcano. The alternative option is to visit the indigenous market of Pujili or Saquisili nearby, where you can get a closer insight to the indigenous cultures of the region (only Wednesdays and Thursdays). You can also visit one of the stunning haciendas and enjoy their great food and use the time to relax. You will then return to Quito
